Experiencing Dehydration, Yellow Urine And Headache. What Is The Reason For Dehydration Even After Drinking Water?
I am an extreme athlete and work out 2 hours a day/6 days a week. I am very in tune with my diet an fluid intake however this past week I have felt chronically dehydrated and I am waking up with dark yellow pee and a headache that feels like a hangover. My headache looms all day but my pee is not as yellow throughout the day. Despite continually drinking water is this dehydration or something else?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Binoy E B's Response
Hello welcome to HCM,
FROM YOUR CASE HISTORY ,IT SEEMS YOU ARE HAVING SEVERE DEHYDRATION WITH SOME ELECTROLYTE IMBALANCE( POSSIBLY SODIUM AND POTASSIUM IMBALANCE)
MY ADVISE TO YOU
1. TAKE REST FOR ABOUT TWO TO THREE DAYS. 2. CONTINUE TO TAKE MAXIMUM FLUIDS AND ORAL REHYDRATION SALT ( ors SACHETS) 3.IF POSSIBLE ,TAKE TENDER COCONUT WATER. 4.IF THE SYMPTOMS STILL PERSIST ,CONSULT YOUR GENERAL PHYSICIAN AND HE WILL ADVISE YOU TO DO RENAL FUNCTION TESTS AND ELECTROLYTE LEVELS IN YOUR BLLOD.
AND REST WOULD PROBABLY BRING BACK YOUR ORIGINAL STATE..TAKE CARE
