I woke up in the middle of the night on Monday with dizziness...I have had vertigo before and thought that was it, but the Epley exercises are not inducing vertigo and are not helping. I feel very heavy headed, feel feverish but do not have a fever, still feel dizzy often with some episodes of vertigo (room spinning) and I have a headache that starts at the back of my head and neck and goes around both sides of my head to the temples...feels like someone is squeezing my head....also feel like my ears are blocked but do not have any sinus issues or infections
You may be suffering from something referred to as Vertiginous Migraine which is a form of headache that is a migraine but with symptoms associated of vertigo. The interesting thing about this disorder is that the vertigo and headache are not necessarily present at the same time and can be separated by as much as 24 or even 48 hours, depending upon the frequency of the headaches. In other words, a person could have a severe headache with migraine symptoms, resolve the episode and then, 1 to 2 days later have significant vertigo without the headache component. Or the headache could be present again. The trick is to recognize it more as a form of headache rather than a form of vertigo and to treat the symptoms accordingly. You may wish to consult a headache specialist for this as a possibility or at least a Neurologist.
