Experiencing Severe Cramping, On And Off Spotting Followed By Heavy Bleeding

Hello Doctor,
I am a 20 year old female who has been experiencing severe cramping and abnormal bleeding. I have gotten what look like a period two weeks in a row. The first weekend, there was just on and off spotting. During the week following that, I had very painful abdominal cramps, no blood included. This week though, I had the painful abdominal cramping, severe side cramping, along with continuous bleeding that hasn't stopped since it started.

Hi,
The possible causes of the abnormal bleeding are hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, pelvic infection, effect of some medications etc. Please see a gynecologist immediately for a complete evaluation; get a sonogram, blood counts, bleeding and clotting times, urinalysis and a hormonal profile. You would need styptics and hormones to control the bleeding. Any local causes like polyps also should be attended to. Nutritional supplements must be given. Hope your query has been clarified.
