Experiencing Sinus Pain & Numbness After Breaking The Nose
About two years ago I broke my nose. I went to the ER but all they did was X-Ray and say it would heal itself. Now I am having major sinus pain. Sometimes my nose even goes numb. Is this something I should be concerned about and is there something that can be done about it?
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.
Pain & numbness in the nose after injury is commonly due to injury to the nasal cartilage, damage to the tissues & structures in the nose.
Since you have a history of broken nose & id not have proper treatment thereafter you may develop Sinus problems because of it.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT. Get X-Ray PNS done to rule out any factor causing sinus problems.
Numbness that you are experiencing is due to pressure, bruise or injury to the nasal or facial nerve or facial trauma (maxillofacial).
Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. It will be treated with antibiotics, analgesics if needed your treating doctor may suggest surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Take care. Regards, Dr Nupur K
