Experiencing Slight Lower Abdominal Pain After Having Sex

I had protected sex twice in one day three days ago. It was kind of rough sex, plus it was my first time in 2 years. I've been experiencing slight lower left abdominal cramping since then. I'm on the pill, plus he used a condom both times. Should I be concerned? I finished my period exactly one week ago, also.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lower abdominal pain after having rough sex can be due to pelvic inflammatory diseases (PID).
In case PID is present, the symptom of abdominal pain and/or menstrual abnormalities should have occurred before.
In addition, a history of unprotected sex should also be present.
Secondly, the pain could be mechanical or physical due to rough act of sex.

Thanks and take care
Dr Shailja P Wahal
