Experiencing Very Light Post Menopausal Spotting, Pinkish Discharge. Concerned?
I have, just since yesterday, experience very light post menopausal spotting...showing just on toilet tissue as pinkish discharge . I have had a checkup within the last 6 mos showing no issue on both types of paps and am well into my 2nd year without menstruation . I am a little concerned but because it has not been that long since a full check up I am a little worried.
Hi, Thanks for the query. The possible causes for your problem are : - During menopause, the endometrial tissue becomes thin . This can lead to exposure of the underlying blood vessels. And they can bleed easily. -Presence of endometrial polyps or fibroids can lead to spotting. - Local causes like cervical or endometrial malignancies, don't worry this is rare possibility. -Uterine infections or usage of anti clotting drugs. So, once consult gynecologist and get examined. Go for ultrasound and pap smear. If your doctor recommends go for D&C once. This can help in ruling out endometrial abnormalities. Possibly by this workup the cause for your problem can be identified and treated. Take care.
