He is also going to a methadone clinic for an addiction medicine and help with the pain. He does smoke and is trying to stop he drinks a good amount of energy monster drinks sometimes 2-4 a day. He has mentioned taking weed when it is legalized to help with his anxiety. He has a good ammune system and heals fast now, but Im concerned about the long run. what happens if he keeps this up?

Dear,

1. Smoking is bad for the health and can lead to everything from hair loss to heart problems to cancers to impotence. Try Chantix pills, they are the best for quitting smoking. Nicotine chewing gums are a replacement for cigarettes.
Electronic cigarettes are rather harmful.
2. "Weed" or cannabis is only for certain medical patients. It is called medical marijuana. It is definitely not for your husband as it is downright illegal and can cause severe mental problems, "hemp" insanity, "reefer" madness, in the long run. Though, he may be right, that, it may, decrease anxiety.
3. "Monster" drinks contain caffeine in large amounts. Caffeine is found in tea and coffee too, however, the levels of caffeine in these drinks is way beyond. Caffeine in moderation is fine, though it can lead to heart attacks, or episodes of palpitations of the heart, which might unsettle him and you, making it seem as though he is getting an attack. Trips to the ER.
4. Sweets can overload the body's system of handling sugar balances and cause diabetes and caries of the teeth. Type 2 diabetes can be a real bother.
5. His sleeping patterns are off because of tobacco, sweets and caffeine.
6. Methadone is itself an addictive drug. Kindly wean him off it.

Finally, it's up to you to help him out of this quagmire of problems. It's good that you are concerned, and I'm sure you can help him stay motivated.

Best of luck.
