Extreme High BP. Please Help ?

My dad has high blood pressure. Like for more than 10 years now he's had pretty high blood pressure. All of a sudden, today his b/p was 172/119. Why did it jump so much all of a sudden? Thanks he is not a smoker and he does take medicine. I checked his blood pressure and it reads 160/117. And the heart rate is 88 bpm.

Blood pressure can vary throughout the day. High blood pressure is called the "silent killer". He needs to get a doctors help in dealing with it right away. It's very dangerous for a person to try to treat it himself.
