Extreme Joint Pain And Body Aches. Diagnosed With Hashimotos Following Surgery For Papillary Cancer. Is Diagnosis Correct?

Im 37 and had total thyroidectomy in april due to papillary cancer. Diagnosed with Hashimotos following surgery and also low calcium and vit d. My body is now a train wreck. Almost daily headaches and jaw pain. Constant body aches and joint pain and body stiffness after activity. Severe restless leg at night and charlie horses in any area that i stretch. Arthritic like pain in hands and sharp pains in heels in am. I am tired all the time and it is extreme by 1or 2 pm. I basically start shutting down by then and cant concentrate on my work. My brain feels like its in a fog and i have no memory. None of this is normal for me and I really need some help. My endocrinologist just shrugs it off. Im wondering if all these symptoms fit with hashimotos and would appreciate any suggestions on dealing with this disease.

Hi and thanks for the query,
It is compatible with Hashimotos disease. However,Calcium and Vitamin D supplementation should to some extent minimize symptoms. The pain described deserves that some rheumatologic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, polymyalgia rheimatica and other systemic diseases, with muscle and joint involvement be excluded. I would suggest a careful evaluation of these joint symptoms before attributing them exclusively to Hasimotos. The opinion of a rheumatologist my count in this case. Kind regards
