Extreme Pain In Shoulder On The Left Side, Body Pain. Could It Be A Heart Attack ?

I have extreme pain in my shoulder on the left side. I have been in bed 2 days sleeping.
I have had pain in my body from my legs up through my stomach in the last 2 days and now the pain is in my left shoulder. Can you advise if I am having a heart attack. It feels like a clot has travelled around my body and has lodged itself in the heart. I don't usually get sick but I did have similar symptoms 2 moths ago. Pain in my abdomen and legs and back but the shoulder was not felt the way it is now. I have also got my period during these 2 days in bed, I am a 45 year old women. The doctors have identified 3 fibroids in my uterus but nothing large enough to be concerned about. They are 4cm, 3cm & 11/2cm. Thank you fr your advise. I am finding it difficult to stand straight when I need to use the bathroom and laying on my left shoulder is very painful.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Pain in the left shoulder can occur due to a number of causes.
Angina (pain due to compromise of the coronary arteries by thrombus, spasm, artherosclerosis, etc), gastro-esophageal syndrome (GERD), musculoskeletal pain, trauma, bony lesion, etc.
An X-ray of the shoulder joint is required to look for any bone or soft tissue injury.
The anginal pain is localized to left side of the chest and radiates to the left upper limb.
However, is there any history of cardiac compromise.
You need to consult a cardiologist for investigations like ECG, echocardiograply. holter, etc depending on the clinical status.
Fibroids in the uterus are benign tumors arising from muscle layer of the uterus.
They need to be removed when their size is very big causing symptoms like- pain, menorrhagia, irregular menstruation, etc.
Consult your physician for clinical examination, and relevant investigations to find out the cause of pain in the shoulder region.

Thanks and take care
