sir pls tell me dat ystrday my husband got faint and ,had headach giddiyness nd cold sweating and almost it ws of 10 minutes duration he ws just drenched with sweat nd almost cold ,he is hvg high bp problem nd these days coz of sm loss in business nd family problem so pls guide me should i go for heart related or bp related treatment wt exactly it ws ,we went to doctor nd he gave him pills to control his bp ,nd suggest us to go for hisold treatment by his own doctr bt pls guide me it ws what exactly a minor heart attack,panic attack or bp related problem
Dear Madam Thanks for writing to us. Loss of consciousness for more than 10 minutes is unlikely to be a cardiac event. A neurological event may last for more than 10 minutes. If duration of loss of consciousness was lesser or indeterminate, it may be one of both. Since he has high blood pressure it would be prudent to see a good internist (medical specialist) first. He will be able to decipher the likely cause and will guide you to a cardiologist or neurologist as per requirement. He will also be able to provide treatment to a large extent in most cases scenarios. Sincerely
