Feel Like Contracting Neck And Head Muscles Due To Pain. Only Lying Helps, Why?

Hi, i always feel the need of constantly contract my neck, head and shoulders muscles to the point of feeling head, back and neck pain . My GP diagnosed me with a mild anxiety disorder but i don t feel anxious and my symptoms don t seem to fit the diagnostic. The only way I can relax my muscles is when I m lying down doing nothing. What can be causing it. Thank you in advance.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that by the history you give it looks like a chronic pain syndrome but it will require some tests to see if some thing else is going on.

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
