Feeling Nauseated. Worse On Smelling Or Eating Something. Body Shivering. What Could It Be?

early this morning (4 am) and up till about 1 pm I was feeling very nausea s and when ever I smelt or even tried to eat it would get worse. Now I am home and I was able to eat something small and drink more fluids but my body is very hot (with no temperature and I m covered with a blanket) but if I walk around the house I become very chilled and start to shiver. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As I have answered previously in couple of questions, there can be various causes for nausea which include Chemicals or toxins, Motion sickness (disorder which cause nausea and vomiting in sensitive individuals while traveling), gastritis, peptic ulcer, severe hypertension, unpleasant smell or pictures, brain tumors, morning sickness, radiation therapy etc.

As you are also chills and your body feels hot, there could be possibility of urinary tract infection or malaria or some other infection. If you were my patient, I would order investigations like CBC, complete urine examination, blood test to detect malarial parasites.

Hope it helps!
