Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on the description, I assume that you may have sustained INTRACAPSULAR fracture neck of femur. Non union & Avascular necrosis are common complications of this type of fracture which lead to pain & limitation of movements in the hip joint. Whereas EXTRACAPSULAR fracture neck of femur commonly results in Malunion leading to shortening of leg that may cause limping.

Anyway, a detailed physical examination and appropriate investigations are necessary (like xray, MRI etc) to exactly find out the cause for your limp.

Consult your treating doctor for a detailed workup and further management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
