Fever, Blood Test Reveals S.Typhi O Antigen Positive. Typhoid ?
hello doctor!
I'm a 22y female, I do not have any health conditions, I have fever since 5 days, when i had my blood test done, the results are:
S.TYPHI "O" antigen- 1:160 dil positive
S.TYPHI "H" antigen- 1:80 dil positive
does this mean I have typhoid, the doctor whom I consult has given my medications for typhoid....
my body temperature always remains at 101-102deg Fahrenheit,
I have severe pain in all the limb joints.
is this serious, i need to get back to my job when can i do that?

Yes, you have positive widal results for typhoid fever.
You should start taking antibiotics.
You can take Tablet Cefixime(200 mg)twice daily for seven days along with paracetamol tablets (500 mg)thrice daily.Sponging of whole body should also be done.
If condition is not improved then injection ceftriaxone (1 gm) I.V twice daily can be given for five to seven days.
You can contact your physician also.
