Fever, Night Sweats, Weight Loss, Tick Disease, TB, Muscle Stiffness. Done MRI. Explain Situation

Hello Dr,
I am writing to you with regard to my brother in law, he developed a fever end of July with fever and chills and night sweats, fatigue and weight loss. Drs assumed it could be tick disease and prescribed him Doxycycline. however, the fever subsided but then came back again. since then he has these continuous fever bouts. he was admitted to a hospital and several checks were done. from blood works, xrays, etc, his mri showed nodule in the neck, a surgery was performed and the nodule was removed which tested positive for TB (neckorine granuloma - hope I got the term right). his medication for Tb has started, just on 12/sept, the following week he showed improvement, his fever gradually subsided, he put on weight one kg, but after a week the fever resurfaced and he also started complaining of joint pain.
my question is how long does the fever take to go completely?
is it normal for muscle stiffness or pain during treatment - are these signs of side effects of the medicines
or do we need to do some more tests bcos, my sis is confused whether the doctors are missing out on something?
