Fever With Cough, Vomiting Sensation Reduced With Calpol And Digene Gel. Should I Take Other Prescribed Medicines?
yesterday I was having fever with cough and vomiting tendency.During bed time my temperatur was 102 degree.I took a calpol and two tea spoons of digene gel.now I am feeling much better and temperature is 99.3 degree.vomiting tendency is also gone.My doctor has prescribed me Vibazime duo 325 ,correctol plus and Grilinctus.I haven t took any of the pills.Is there any necessity to take those pills?

as your condition looks like common cold that was initially viral and has improved symptomatically there is no absolute need for you to use the above medications.but you are the best judge of your symptoms and if you think the severity increased do continue.as vibazime duo is an antibiotic you might experience some heartburn or nausea and for that you can take ranitidine 150mg twice daily just before having food or pan-40 once daily before breakfast

The doctor has already started with antibiotics/antacids/antipyretics ,the temperature has also thereby reduced.Kindly follow his advice.The doctor would have suspected Ac respiratory infection.It could have been Viral/bacterial in origin.
Usually 48 hours is required to get a clear indication of effectiveness of the treatment ,otherwise investigations have to be carried out by the treating doctor.
The usual investigations include Blood tests such as Hb%,TLC,DLC,ESR,RBS and Urinalysis-complete.A Chest X-Ray to rule out Consolidation(Suspected Pneumonia) and in some cases Throat Swab culture.
Kindly also include Warm Saline Gargling/Abstain from Smoking if you are a smoker.Consume freshly prepared/cooked food and not stored food as stored or tinned food acts as a culture medium for bacteria.
