Food Poisoning, Cloudy Urine. Drinking Lots Of Water Provides No Relief. Cure?

I had food poisoning and now I have cloudy urine . I have had food poisoning before, but have never had cloudy urine before. I got food poisoning 2 days ago and had cloudy urine the next day. I am concerned about the cloudy urine but it does not seem to be going away, even with all the cups of water I am drinking. I just seem to be urinating it all out a few hours later.

Hi there

Thanks for your query

By food poisoning I am assuming that it means some diarrhea and/or vomiting. Diarhea and vomiting can cause dehydration in the body. Dehydration means loos of fluids from the body. You have mentioned that you have been drinking water but the cloudy urine does not go away. It can be caused by a few conditions. One is that you are not rehydrating in the right way. You can try pedialyte or ORS instead of plain water. You have to drink enough fluids to cover for the fluids lost. Secondly the initial phase of dehydration may have affected the kidneys. It can also cause cloudy urine. Thirdly you may be having urine infection.
To rule out these possibilities some investigations need to be done. Most important investigation is urine analysis, along with some other tests according to the variety of possibilities.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thanks
