Forehead Injury. Gash. Steri-strips Used. Healing Time?

Hi, I accidently tripped up the other day and hit my forehead on the pavement. Have a big gash on my head, nurse at the hospital used steristrips on the cut. She said there will be a scar after it has healed. I was just wondering how long it will take to heal, how long for there to be a scab and would the scar be red or white (noticeable)

Hi,
Thank you for your question.
You don't mention how large the cut on your forehead is. If it was treated with steristrips, I assume it wasn't too big. Therefore, I would estimate it may take 5 -7 days to heal during which time a scab will develop. The steristrips may naturally drop off during this time.
The scar will initially be red but may develop more of a whitish color to it.
I hope this has helped you.
Best regards.
