Frequent Painful Spasm In Leg Muscle, Popping Out Muscles Looking Twisted. History Of Diabetes. Advice

my husband is a diabetic and recently he has been having a lot of painful leg muscle spasm that I can actually see the muscles of his legs popping out and they look sort of twisted. this has been happening more often daily. It normally happens while we are in bed and it wakes him up from a deep sleep. We are both a bit concerned about it.

Thank you,
Frankie

Hi dear,

Welcome to the platform of Health Care Magic.

Your husband is developing tetanic spasm. These tetanic spasm usually because of calcium imbalane in the body.

He should be investigated for serum calcium level and Vitamin D3 level.

Both can be concurrently supplemnted if defecient and patient improves.

For muscle cramps he should also recieve Vit E for some time say two weeks.

Vitamin D3 and Vit E should not be overdosed because both are fat soluble vitamins , so they get accumulated in side the body and may cause hypervitaminosis.

Hope youe query is answwered

Thanks
