Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through your history most likely you have developed UTI( Urinary Tract Infection) sexual minor trauma is one of the known predisposing factor for UTI. Minor bleeding may be trauma or part of UTI
Please consult your Physician or Gynaecologist you need to take a Urine analysis and Culture and sensitivity report.
In the mean time you can take lot of fluids and cranberry juice, once sample is given urinary specific antibiotic may be started with urinary antiseptic like Pyridium to reduce your discomfort.Once the report of culture comes antibiotic may be changed if it needs to be.
You may use a Paracetamol tab if there is pain and fever.
Take care
Good Luck.

Hello Nichole...
The symptoms mentioned by you such as burning sensation during urination suggest that you might be having Urinary tract infection.
Blood in urine can be attributed to involvement of urinary bladder.

The treatment involves:
1. Drinking lots of water (it dilutes the urine & reduces the burning sensation)
2. Antibiotics depending upon urine culture & sensitivity.
3. If there is associated fever, then paracetamol 500 mg three times in a day can be added.

One more thing...avoid acidic foods, carbonated drinks and alcohol...& maintain good hygiene.
There is no need to worry...you will perfectly alright after taking the course of antibiotics.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care.

Hi there,
Thanks for writing to us,
As you had UTI,s in the past more chances of getting recurrent urinary infection leading on to painful urination and spotting blood during urination.
Taking norflox 400 mg twice daily for 3 days helps you get out of symptoms. As most of UTI infection are sensitive to norfloxacin , it is advisable to take them.
If your symptoms wont resolve ,visit an nearby GP and get an proper examination and treated accordingly.
Take care.
