Frequent Urination, Dark Urine, Urinalysis Showed RBC, HPF. Preventive Measures?

hi am 52 male , i had a history of blood in urine , a year back i had an abdomen sonar indicated a mild prostate enlargement , symptoms were frequent urinating and from that time urine color became darker constantly . PSA was negative , after that during hot summer symptoms were less , now we started autumn the symptoms came again , last urine analysis indicated 6-8 RBC and 3-5 HPF , i suspect of some infection could be due to wife after intercourse , she had vaginal tablets of gyno daktarin and she became better . pls let me know if any preventive actions can be taken to reduce the blood in urine . many thanks

Hi Basel,
Thanks for writing your query.

Can you tell whether you are diabetic?
Blood in urine can due to infection or stone of the urinary tract in addition to the prostrate hypertrophy.
Please get the following investigations :-
1. Complete Blood Count
2. Kidney Function Test
3. Fasting blood sugar level
4. Urine Culture and Senstivity

Drink plenty of pure filtered water. This will help in reducing the infection.
Thanks.
