Frequent Urination, High BP. Prescribed Lisinopril And Hydrochlorothiazide. BP Lowered, No Relief From Frequent Urination. Suggest

A month ago, I had a frequency of urine. So, I went to a clinic and they checked my blood pressure and it said that it was high(170/120). The doctor gave me antibiotics(SMZ-TMP DS TAB), it was for the urinary tract infection. And they also gave me Triamterene-htcz for my blood pressure. So, then the frequency of urine became larger. 2 weeks later,I went back to the clinic. The doctor said that the triamterene-htcz was a diuretic pill so it made you like go to the bathroom often. So, she changed the medicine to Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide for the blood pressure. But the frequency of the urine was the same. I felt a little depressed for going to the bathroom too often. Going to the bathroom for at least every 20 minutes. It keeps happening for about a month now. Yeah, my blood pressure lowered, but the problem in the first place (frequency of urine) was not fixed. What do I do to fix it?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been detected to have Hypertension and you have been prescribed medicines that contain Hydrochlorothiazide

Hydrochloorthiazide has a diuretic effect and that is the reason for your increase frequency of Urination.

Please consult cardiologist for alternate medications to keep your blood pressure under control.
