Frequent Urination, Lower Back Pain. History Of Having Urine Infection. Urine Culture Shows Morganella Morganii. Any Other Medication Except Norfloxacin?

Dear Doc,
My urine culture shows morganella morganii( 20,000 cfu/ml). I experienced frequent urination for a few days. I was travelling and noticed that i wss drinking less water as it was cold weather ( 14-18c). I have lower back pain too. i am 51 year old male. i had e. coli uti infection 6 months ago. My ultrasound test forkidney, prostrate by ul trasound and it was all okay. Can i take any natural / alternative? I am hesitant to use Norfloxacin due to its side effect. Is 20,000 CFu high?

If there is culture positive report of your urine and sensitivity has come for the particular drug then it is advisable to you for completing the course of that drug. In this way it is quite possible that the disease will be totally eradicated.
To eradicate the UTI is very important in the sense that persistence of the bacteria in the urinary tract may lead to many complications and some times end stage renal disease also.
Many alternative treatment may be available to reduce the symptoms but not necessary they will treat the infections completely.
Hence it advisable to go according the report of culture and sensitivity.
