Hello and welcome to HCM

It seems from your history that you are having post-coital bleeding. Post-coital bleeding is bleeding after having intercourse.
Post-coital bleeding should not ignored. You should visit your gynaecologist for clinical examination.
post coital bleeding can be caused due to a numbar of benign and malignant conditions.
To name afew:
1. Cervical polyp, cervical dysplasia, pre-invasive condition, cervical cancer
2. Vaginal inflammation, vaginal infection
3. Endometrial polyp, endometrial inflammation

Clinical examination will help the gynaecologist to order further investigations and thus management.

A delay of few days is acceptable in a normal menstrual cycle.
However, if the periods are still delayed, consult your gynaecologist for the same.
Pregnancy will alo cause absence of periods so a pregnancy test can also be undertaken.

Thanks and take care

Hi Smarty Lisa,

Your period not coming might be due to a good number of reasons such as psychosocial/environmental problems, food change, infection, hormonal disorder, pregnancy etc. Well getting your detailed medical and social history would have helped to give you exact answers. Considering the fact that you are having post coital bleeding and tenderness, I will think that you are having a pelvic infection which could have affected your menses. Infection of the endometrium (endometritis), cervix (cervicitis) and/or vagina (vaginitis which could hardly distort your period), acute PID etc could have caused absence menses. You will need to pay a visit to a gynobs who would be able to examine you and determine the exact cause of your missed period. Pregnancy test, pelvic ultrasound, laboratory tests for infection etc would be needed in order to determine the cause of your problem.
Please do visit a gynobs when ever possible.

Hope this helps
