Giving Calpol, Dilo, Azithral For Child Suffering From Cold, Cough, Running Nose And High Fever. Is It Safe ?
be given to my daughter of 4+ years together, she is suffering from cold cough running nose and high fever, i have been giving her calpol 120:5ml, thrice a day, alaspan 3 ml twice a day , DiloBM 5 ml thrice a dayand azithrawl 100 5ml i have started right now.. 1.my question is this medication is right for my daughter 2.can i give DiloBm and azithrawl 100 together if yes then what sould be the dosage for azithrawl 100
Both Alaspan and Dilo BM contain anti-allergic and hence I suggest that you discontinue Alaspan as Dilo BM will take care of cough too.
You can continue giving Dilo BM and Azithral together as Azithral is an antibiotic whereas Dilo BM is a cough syrup.
Presuming your daughter's weight to be around 15 Kg. you should give her 7.5 ml. once daily on day one and then around 4 ml. daily thereafter of syp. Azithral containing 100 mg./5 ml. You need to increase the dose of syp. Calpol to around 7.5 ml. instead of 5 ml.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
