Got Hurt On Foot, X-ray Showing Broken. How To Treat This?
In January this year, while getting onto a cab, my foot slipped and my shin hit the edge of the back of the front seat. I had an X-ray showing broken. PCP suggested elevation and heating on leg because the area hit was very red. Although it is not as sore as it was, I still have a big red circle on my shin. No one has given me any clear answer as to how to treat this redness, or if it will stay this way forever. I ve been using the cream Utterly Smooth on it, but it hasn t helped. Any suggestions?
It is very unusual for a bruise or ecchymosis to persist for so many months after the initial injury (10 months after injury). Generally, the bruise/hematoma will get absorbed naturally within 3-6 weeks spontaneously.
There is no role for self care measures in your case. I suggest you to consult your family physician for a detailed evaluation and management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
