Got Knee Injury, Injured Area Filled With Some Liquid. Is It Pus Or Fluid For Curing The Wound?

Hello Doctor, I am 25 years old, male from India. I got a knee injury 2 weeks ago and it was curing. Yesterday when I was getting up from the chair, my knee (The injured area) got hit in the table. There was no bleeding or anything at that moment. But when I saw today morning, the injured area is filled with some liquid (like a fluid filled blister ). Is it pus or fluid for curing the wound? What should I do ? Remove the liquid out of the wound safely ? or Let it as such. Plz let me know.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The fluid filled area at the site of blister is likely to be due to a collection of blood in the area. Do not touch or burst the blister. It could cause infection in the area. It is best to get it examined and get some antibiotics prescribed.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

It is likely to be fluid / pus imparts a white colour; blood gives bluish discolouration...
You have not stated your age, gender, personal habits, family history or co-morbidities
Never middle with it.
See an Orthopaedician / get examined / get investigated, if necessary...

Rest to the part (Splinting if necessary & avoiding weight bearing) is important
Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs like ibuprofen reduce pain & inflammation
Cold compress in first days / later warm compress - help

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
