I have been developing pains in the knees and recently discovered that I have what appears to be popeye elbow in my right arm . I have no pain just a doughy swelling on the one elbow. I ve been applying ice and taking 600mg ibuprofin 1x a day. Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.

From description swelling over ankle seems to be inflammatory in nature. it might be a bursitis. tendenitis or acute attack of gout.

I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

Wishing you good health...
Regards.
