General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Lower neck is where sometimes lymph nodes can be located. It may happen that due to some infection in the close area the lymph node gets larger.
Such lump can be also (more probable than lymph node) a lipoma or sebaceus cyst. Both lesions are benign and do not increase cancer risk.
The best way to find out what it is, is a soft tissues ultrasound. In case of lymph node, biopsy or excision and histopathology tests will rule any serious issues out.
In case of lipoma or sebaceus cyst you may ask a surgeon to remove it.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
