HSG Done. What Does The Findings Mean?

Hello dr,my hsg result came with the following findings,technique used was contrast medium was injected slowly into the uterine cavity and anteroposterior with both obliques views of the pelvis were taken under fluoroscopic screening.
Findings: a normal size uterine cavity with a regular contour is seen,the left and right tubes are outlined,show a regular contour and a normal calibre with free peritoneal spill.
Please kindly assist in explaining what this means.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

From the findings above, the results show that your uterine cavity and fallopian tubes are normal in appearance.

This means there is no structural defect within to uterus (in the way of implantation of embryo) or no blockage in fallopian tubes (preventing fertilization from taking place in the fallopian tubes).

If you are getting evaluated for infertility, other causes must be evaluated.
