2days ago my dad had a stroke and heart attack he has htn, diabetes ,chf, blind and BKA. Currently he has had the TPA, but a clot is still in his brain. Is there a chance it may still dissolve although he had TPA on Wednesday and its now Friday? Also his BS aren t stable and he s on an insulin drip, at the hospital. Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

It is unfortunate that your father had stroke and heart attack at the same time. However, it is good to note that he received the best treatment for stroke- thrombolysis with tpa.

Recovery would depend on the exact size and location of the clot. It may take a few weeks to months for recovery.

Physiotherapy is also important.

I request you to discuss these issues with your doctor too.

Best wishes,
