Had A Total Hip Replacement. Have Strong Muscle Spasms. Painful To Stand On. On Pain Killers, Not Helping. How To Stop The Spasms?

I had a total hip replacement on March 5 2013 Right from the beginning I have had really strong muscle spasms.
They are so strong, they lock my leg in a bent position when I stand and sometimes, even when I just move. It is very painful to stand on but after a few steps it loosens up. I saw my surgeon yesterday but he didn't seem to have any answers. Is there something I can take to stop the spasms. I have been taking so many pain killers since the surgery, I am worried I am ruining my liver and/or kidneys

hello,
taking so many painkillers is also not good for your health. For spasms you can take muscle relaxants like tab.baclofen with low dose but before taking just consult your doctor and explain about your spasms.Muscle relaxants may solve your problem. And physiotherapy also helps you to reduce the spasms. If still the spasms exists try to consult a physician to know the cause of the spams.Thank you.
