Hello, I'm a 38 year old female and just got my blood test results for iron binding capacity. I have been having very heavy menstrual flows. Here are the results, but my doctor is not in the office until next week. Could you give me a general idea of what they might mean? Thank you.

hello madam
welcome to health care magic,
regarding your blood values,,iron, transferin,,transferin saturation is reduced and iron binding capacity is increased...this clearly suggests that you are suffering from iron deficiency anemia, because of heavy menstrual loss..
first of all you please consult gynecologist for your heavy menstrual loss..
later depending upon your hemoglobin status(you did not mention about your hemoglobin status,,,) they will tell you blood transfusion or iron improving medicines..
mean while eat jaggery fresh leafy vegetables nuts and other iron containing foods..if you are Non-veg try meat also..
hope you will satisfied with my suggestion
have a speedy recovery
thank you

It means you have low iron status probably due to the heavy menstrual bleeding. Your doctor will suggest iron replacement for the same. Hope it helped

Hello,

Your iron profile report is in favour of iron defeciency . It may be due to heavy menstrual flow. You will be advised iron supplements for that .But you should consult your gynaecologist for treatment of of heavy blood loss .

Hellmdear hope you be fine
You mentioned your labs these are all indicative of iron deficiency anemia,,,,there Are two major causes for this diet and heavy menstrual flow ,,,you have mentioned you bleed heavily ,,,my advice is go to gyanocologist have your pelvic ultrasound done this will cure the cause
Next to improve iron levels take red meat fresh vegetables and juices ,,,,if your h.b is below 7 you need transfusion,if between7and9 you need injectable form of irin,if above 9 just oral iron tablets ....stay blessed
