Had Bloody Nose, Blood In My Stool And Blacking Out. What Does The Finding Mean?

Hi..my name is Russ and I am a college student at Weber State University. About a week ago I kept blacking out and getting a bloody nose right afterwards. I was having joint pain in my knees and elbows as well. The blacking out and bloody noses have since stopped but now my oxygen level drops from 97% just resting to 75% after walking to class. It goes back to 97% fairly quickly but I know 75% is too low. I also have had blood in my stool. I have been to a doctor and they say that it is just something viral but I don't have a cold or anything like that...i just can't breath and I keep getting light headed after walking to the point I fell I will start blacking out again. I was wondering what you might think was wrong or what would be causing this.

Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read your question. There can be several reasons for your problem some of them are following-

-High blood pressure

-Lung problems

-Decrease in thrombocyte cells in blood which help in blood coagulation

-Deficiency of blood clotting factors

-Some medicines which has effect on blood coagulation .

-Dengue fever which decreases the blood platelets.

If you are having this problem then you should consult to your doctor or take second opinion from other doctor. You should also have blood investigation which should have ROUTINE HEMATOLOGY EXAMINATION,TOTAL & DIFFERENTIAL BLOOD COUNT,PERIPHERAL BLOOD FILM EXAMINATION.

Till then you should avoid any type of pain medicine .

Avoid any strain.

Take rest.

Take fresh fruits & vegetables.

Keep your self well hydrated.

Hope this all will help you.

With best wishes.
