ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to HCM,

I have understood your concern regarding your feeling in the chest and then throat.

You are most probably suffering from an episode of acute reflux and that ios further augmented by the high stress levels especially after delivery.

You need to do the following immediately:
-Start on an anti reflux medication such as pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily before food for at least two weeks. Your doctor will know about this.
- Avoid anything spicy, oily or high flavored
- Take food at proper time, with a baby it may be difficult but you should try to regularize your meal timings as much as possible.
- Do not strain your voice when you speak
- Do not immediately lie down after you eat

Try the above for about two weeks and if you do not improve then get an upper GI endoscopy and get back to me with the reports

regards

Dr Sriram Nathan
