Had Colonoscopy. During Urination Just Had Trickling And Not Emptied Bladder. Had Leakage Problem. Suggest?
I'm a 56 year old female. I had a colonoscopy today. I came home went to go urinate and it just trickled out then stopped then trickled and stopped, etc.... for at least 10 minutes and still don't think the bladder emptied. Never had this problem before! I had a problem a few years ago with leakage, had a bladder tack that lasted about 3 months, but then I just go to the bathroom every hour to control it, sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Regardless, I've never had a problem NOT being able to before and now my belly is blowing up like a balloon and can't pee hardly at all, what's the deal?
If it due to any medication given then the symptoms should resolve within 24 to 36 hours. If they persist or become intolerable then you may want to visit your doctor because temporary catherisation may be necessary.
I hope this helps

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Routine colonoscopy should not cause urinary retention, however if you were given anesthetic agents it may be the cause of your symptoms. If it due to any medication given then the symptoms should resolve within 24 to 36 hours. If they persist or become intolerable then you may want to visit your doctor because temporary catherisation may be necessary. I hope this helps
