Had Four Faint Fits. No Signs Of Epilepsy. Ear Ache On Every Occasions. Is ETD The Reason For Fits?
My daughter (19) has had 4 faint fits in the last 6 months all spread equally apart. She has seen a neurologist and after a CT scan, MRI, EEG and sleep deprived EEG was told she has no signs of epilepsy. On each occasion she has earache either just before or after the faint fit. Had Four Faint Fits. No Signs Of Epilepsy. Ear Ache On Every Occasions. Is ETD The Reason For Fits?
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. I have gone through your query regarding faint fit to your daughter , she had bee examined and investigated by neurologist and being found as may not be a case of epilepsy. As your daughter is having earache in all the four episodes , so we should rule out ETD (eustachian tube dysfunction) also. Though this is giving such symptoms very rarely. Now you may do- 1- Audiometry ((pure tone) 2- Tympanometry and stapedial reflexes (impedance audiometry) These above two investigations will tell about ETD. If found so than consult your ENT doctor to manage the situation. Regards.
