Had Migraines. Prescribed Topirimate. What Is The Dosage?

Hi, I have just been prescribed Topirimate starting at 25mg per eve for a week, as migraine prevention, rising to twice that after one week (for 3 weeks). A GP friend has suggested to me that I stick with 25mg per day after one week if I don't get headaches, to see what happens, but I feel I should do what I have been prescribed by my own doctor! What do you think please?!

Hi
In case of Migraine prevention, Topirimate is used as 25 mg in the evening. Dose may be increased to 25 mg morning and evening from 2nd week. If you got relief with this, you need not increase the dose further. If not, You can increase the dose as 25 mg in the morning and 50 mg in the evening on 3rd week and further to 50 mg morning and evening and to maintain it for about 12 weeks or more if needed.
