Had My Tubes Tied. Had Missed Period For 3 Months. Then Had A Period. Had Sore Breast, Heartburn, Bloating. Prognosis?

I had my tubes tied 19 years ago but was married to a man who also had had a vasectomy. I am divorced and am dating someone. I did not have a period for 3 months and then had a weird one a couple of weeks ago. I have had sore breast for about 3 months, heartburn, bloating, gas, light cramping and tonight muscle spasms on my lower right side. I am 47.

Thanks for the query.
The possibility of pregnancy is less in your case as you had tubal ligation.
The delay in periods could be due to causes like :
- Hormonal changes in perimenopausal stage.
- Lifestyle modifications leading to hormonal imbalance.
- General conditions like anemia, thyroid hormonal abnormalities, prolactin levels abnormalities etc.
So, once consult gynecologist and get examined.
If she recommends go for ultrasound, blood sugar levels, hemoglobin estimation, hormonal profile including estrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH, thyroid profile and prolactin levels etc.
With this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified.
Then you can take tablets for withdrawal bleeding with your doctor's advice and also the cause for the delayed periods can be treated.
