Hi,
Please do not worry. I understand your problem.
The only abnormality in the report is that the
uterus is enlarged [bigger than normal]. Rest everything, that is ovaries, and endometrial thickness are normal.
Knowing your obstetric history [that is number of pregnancies and deliveries ]would have helped. This is because, every
pregnancy causes an increase in uterine size and after delivery it still remains slightly bigger than the previous pre pregnant size. Repeated pregnancies therefore cause a permanent increase in size.
Another reason is a condition called
adenomyosis where the endometrium [lining of the uterus] grows inwards towards the uterine muscles. This increases the size as well as causes pain.
Hormonal imbalances also cause an increase in size especially
estrogen hormone. The swollen breasts are also suggestive of a hormonal dysfunction.
The chances of pregnancy are negligible with regular depoprovera shots and regular periods.
When women with similar complaints come to my clinic, I advise an
endometrial biopsy, a small procedure to collect the endometrium [lining of the uterus] and analyze it. It gives a fair idea of any hormonal effect as well as rules out other rare causes like a cancer.
Further management will depend upon the results of the biopsy.
So do not worry as these are common conditions.
Hope you find this useful. Thanks for using health care magic.
