Had Periods After Taking Next Choice Pill, Have Cramps, Tender Breasts. Is This Normal ?
Hi, I took the next choice pill about 9 hours after having sex on on 7/28. I then recieved my period on 8/3 which for me is two weeks early. It lasted 4 days and was really heavy all 4 days with all of my regular cramps and what not. If this was the pill making me start, did i ovulate like normal after or no? And I normally start between the 16-19th every month and I'm wondering is it normal since I'm assuming the pill made me start early for me to skip or start later now? I havent started yet But have had my normal before period symptoms such as severe irritability, tenderness in my breasts, and my face breaking out. I'm just really stressed now and know that stress can delay periods. I'm just wanting to know is this normal? And should I get my period soon?
Hello, The periods you got few days after taking next choice seems to be a breakthrough bleeding often caused by taking I pills. Your normal period may get delayed by 10-14 days. If you dont get periods for two weeks, then get the pregnancy test done. Absence of pregnancy would require a consultation with gynecologist and possible prescription of progesterone supplements to kick start your periods. Thanks
