Had Sex With Escort, Small Scrapes On Head, Surrounding Skin. Can HIV Transmitted During Deep Throat?

Hi doc, I had sex with an escort / sex worker. She gave me an oral @ deep throat about 5 minutes. Then proceed to cap me with condom for intercourse. After the session, when I uncapped , I noticed small scrapes on my head and surrounding skin. My question is: can hiv transmitted during her deep throat, while her teeth made the scrape during oral? Pls advice. Thank u very much

Hello,

The chances of acquiring HIV occurs in 2 cases:
1. If your partner is affected with HIV
2. If there is any cut/raw surface in your organ through which the infection can spread.

If the above mentioned criteria doesn't hold true for your case, then there is no need to worry about getting HIV.
Moreover, even if the status of your partner is not known, there are almost negligible chance of spread of HIV infection through saliva as the viral load is very less in saliva.

There are certain tests like p24 assay or PCR for HIV, which becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.
So, if this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.
