Had Surgery For Hiatus Hernia. Swelling In The Incision Site. Is It Fat Or Swelling?

hi there i had a hiatial hernia operation 7 days a go and i would like to ask i have quite a bit of swelling before the op could see my top 4 abs and now feel really fat is it weight gain or just swelling also could you tell me how long it will take to subside cos ive actually lost 2 lbs im also a very avid gym goer before the op very heavy powerlifting 3 times a week now only able to walk up the street and back thanks much appreciated

Hello,
This swelling at the incision site could be collection of blood or pus.
You must consult your surgeon for physical inspection of the incision.
It has to drained if it has collection of blood or pus.
As far as starting your weight lifting exercises are concerned,you are not allowed to do them for atleast another 6 months as an incisional hernia may form at the incision site.
