Had The Viral Flu, Swollen Tonsils, Mild Neutropenia, Red Bumps. What Could Be The Reason?

Hi, I had the viral flu which was goung round 3 moths ago, I first notice that my tonsils had swollen (more so on the right) and I had little bumps going down the back of my throat in February, but what is worrying me is that they are still there now. I do have mild neutropenia, but I feel well and finite, just my tonsil on the right is still swollen, the bumps are still going down the back of my throat and there seems to be an accumulation of see little red bumps behind my tonsils both sides at the back of my throat. Why could this be and should I worry?

Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I read your query regarding viral flu, swollen tonsils, mild neutropenia and red bumps on the back of your throat.

After analysing your symptoms and co-relating them it is clear that your viral flu had created mild neutropenia due to toximia, and this is also responsible for thrombocytopenia. This decrease in platelet counts is very common in viral flu, and ultimately results in purpuric spots, same pathophysiology is here for your red bumps at the back of your throat.

You are advice to consult your physician for thorough examination and relevent investigations for streamline the diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

hope your query is well explained.

Regards.
