Had Unprotected Sex. Had Depo Injection. Bloating, Terrible Stomach Cramps, Diarrhea. Why Is It?

Hi, I had sex with my boyfriend yesterday and we didn't use a condom as I've had the depo injection for over a year now and get my shot frequently (every 12 weeks when due). Yesterday I noticed straight after sex I felt bloated and had terrible stomach cramps, similar to what I often experience with ibs. I also had diarrhoea so am wondering what could be causing the problem as it's very embarrassing. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
According to your description that symptoms you had could be due to some gastrointestinal disturbance unrelated to intercourse or there could be some possibility of post-coital tear and infection.
So if the symptoms persist better to consult gynecologist once and get examined to find out the possible cause and take treatment accordingly.

Take care.
