Had Unprotected Sex. Started Periods. Breasts Feel Full And Get Headache. Help?
Hi, so my boyfriend was home on leave for three weeks. We had unprotected sex every day he was home. I don't remember exactly the last time I had a period before he came home, but the day after he left, I started my period, it was really heavy so I figured I wasn't. Now it's been 9 days since he's been gone and my period stopped about 3 days ago. My immune system has went way down and I'm usually never sick. My breasts are more full. I get headaches more often. I'm not sure if I'm just going crazy because he is away and we both want a baby. I'm curious on your opinion of if you think I could be pregnant or not. If you could help, that would be great. Thank you for your time.
When combining unprotected sex, missed period or heavy bleeding, there is always the possibility of a pregnancy (so that should be ruled out first). You could be bleeding as a result of implantation bleed (which is usually not heavy-spotting only for a few days) or more likely having an early miscarriage. Even though you might have miscarriaged, it is still possible to present with pregnancy symptoms as there will normally be a spike of hormones that will cause those symptoms. But that should not bother you as you will feel better in a couple of days. My suggestion right now is to see a gynobs as soon as possible for a complete physical and laboratory evaluation to determine what is actually or had actually been going on with you.
hope this helps

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
After regular sex you had 6 days of bleeding. This suggest you had regular bleeding and not pregnant. But if you saw any tissue in blood, or feel like pregnant then get done blood HCG concentration and USG abdomen and consult your doctor for examination and management. But your history with no such presentation you cant be pregnant now. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Welcome to HCM. There is no any chances of pregnancy because you have very heavy bleeding. Breast pain may occur during periods. Headache might be due to your stress and extreme thought process. Get relaxed.Start some haemitinics,Multivitamin, calcium and b12 supplement. Take acetaminophen for headache. Avoid stress, eat good nutritious diet. Go for certain investigations like CBC,RBS,TSH,TORCH and usg ovulation study to plan the pregnancy. Consult gynecologist for better guidance and medical management.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
As you had your periods this time, no chances of you being pregnant this time. Your symptoms of feeling sick, headache could be due to more blood loss in this periods. Take nutritious food and lot of fluids. You can try to conceive in your next cycle. If your cycles are regular, try to have intercourse in fertile period, that is between 10th day till20th day of your cycle.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr. Vidya
