Hairline fracture on side of left foot and using aircast to support Hi, the doctor has advised 3 weeks rest and medical leave. I had got the aircast and moving slowly with crutches. Its a week now. I am worried because i have some work to do on next saturday , sunday only . Can i move minimally with crutches. Will that be ok or would it make the injury worst. In between I have 7 days to fully rest my left foot.
Hi,
Please follow your doc's advice as he's right. For moving around, you can always use an elbow crutch as there's no contraindication to walking with a fracture lest you put weight on it. So kindly avoid bearing weight over you affected foot. after walking for long periods you'll develop swelling of your toes which would subside if you elevate it overnight on a pillow. Analgesics will take care of your pain.
