Hand Numb After Elbow Hitting Hard, Movement Difficult, Forcefully Bend Fingers. Electrical Zinging In Hand On Bending? Solution?
three weeks ago i hit my elbow so hard that my forearm/hand went numb, and it seemed like my hand went into contracture. i couldn't move it for about 20 seconds. then i had to forcefully try to bend my fingers and wrist...seemed to get better and now 3 weeks later if i bend my elbow i feel electrical zinging in my forearm and outer half of hand, 4th and 5th fingers. should i see someone or wait it out longer?
Based on the given description, it seems that you suffered some sort of injury to the ULNAR nerve present at the level of elbow during your initial incident. Generally, simple concussion injuries of the nerve should recover spontaneously within 3 weeks.
An xray of the injured elbow joint is needed to exclude any fractures of the medial epicondyle that is irritating or causes entrapment of the nerve.
Nerve conduction studies will establish the exact severity of injury to the ulnar nerve.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
