Hard Knot On The Foot Due To Injury. Bruised And Swollen. Any Fracture Chances?

Hi, yesterday I fell off a chair and the chair leg slammed into the inside arch of my foot . It hit very very hard. I put ice on it straight away & on & off through out the arvo. I ve had it on ice again today. There is a hard knot/ball I can feel in the middle of the arch. The foot is swollen & a little bruised. I m not sure if I ve done any damage. What should I do? Thanks, Narelle

hi there, looks like you have injured the soft tissue of your arch of the foot which is causing the pain, bruise and swelling. You can continue putting ice and keep it in an elevated positition as long as possible and take chymotripsin and anti-inflammatory tablets. It should start getting better in 4-5 days but if the symptoms continue or swelling increases then visit the ER and let them take an x-ray and consult the doctor. Hopefully it will be fine in a few days , take care.
